DATA REPORTING
The Canadian Apheresis Group has been collecting data on apheresis procedures in Canada since 1980. In the year 2012, the CAG launched a new online database, where apheresis data is being entered electronically from the apheresis centres across Canada.
The data is important to provide practice comparators, quality assurance and long range planning for blood use. It also allows for real- time monitoring of reactions or trends.
The data we collect shows that we use over ten percent of all of the plasma collected in Canada.

Analysis of the data has indicated the need for further information and has resulted in the development and execution of many clinical trials.
